OBERON SPECIAL EVENTS

Patriotism flourishes in the Oberon community.

Both Canada''s and Manitoba''s birthdays were observed with times of celebration. The 1967 celebration will be long remembered. A beautiful July day saw the village alive with various forms of entertainment. Many hours of reminiscing were spent and many old friendships renewed since former teachers, residents, and loved ones returned to visit on Canada''s birthday. For both celebrations floats were made and parades were held. On each occasion a banquet and dance culminated the birthday celebrations. Earlier in each year, a Centennial Bonspiel was held to begin the year''s activities.
