THE DEBT ADJUSTMENT BOARD

Before the depression things were very prosperous. That made people greedy and, of course, interest rates went very high. An uncle of mine bought a farm from a certain person in Brookdale and he was paying the high interest rate.

Well during the depression a board was formed called "The Debt Adjustment Board". He and his wife took their cause up with that board and the board threw all the interest off the mortgage.
