KEN BLAIR I taught for the first three years of my teaching career (1962·65) in the Brookdale Elementary School with Ewart Hudson principal, Mrs. Strang and Mrs. Boyd. I guess a "rookie" could not have asked for a better principal and mentor than Ewart, and Mrs. Strang and Mrs. Boyd were great people to work with. I especially remember my first students and occasionally I run into some of them, grown men and women with families of their own. I also fondly remember the people in the community, especially Dick and Hazel Taylor with whom I boarded for those three years. The hockey matches, curling bonspiels, football teams were fun because of the people involved. As for me, I have continued teaching in Douglas School, Forrest Elementary School and for the past 10 years in Elton Collegiate at Forrest. My wife Peggy and I have two daughters; Laurie (18 years) attends Brandon University and Tracie (14 years) is in grade nine at Harrison Junior High School in Brandon.
